Profit margin on kits?
Must be some fucking mark up. Brought the new one for me and the nipper given it’s a bit retro this year. Fuck me it feels cheap. The club must make a fucking fortune from kits.
Anyone know how much we turnover each year on the strip?

Buy all replica kit off Ali Express or DHGate. Very hard to tell the difference, except that they're 10 quid instead of 50 or 60.

Just have to be careful with the sizes. Read the reviews to check whether people have found the sizes to be correct or not.

Re: Profit margin on kits?
If someone in China can buy the exact same kit for a fiver then sell on for £15 you can imagine how much Nike/Adidas/Umbro make from these kits. The clubs make nowhere near as much that's why they're paid the massive kit contracts.

"Normal mark up on clothes is 120%”

No it isn’t.

I get my lad kits from ebay. they are genuine but seconds. mate of a mate works for nike and says their quality control is unreal.

just got him 2 x psg air jordan kits, name on the back, shorts/socks etc, £13.99 each. all proper labels etc, but the badges are not 100% circular hence the price.

They would look a lot better if they never had that basset hound bullshit on the shoulder. These days your paying £50+ to be a walking advert.

Re: Profit margin on kits?
I’m guessing Umbo pay the club for being the kit sponsor?
Normal mark up on clothes is 120%
So a pair of trousers bought by a shop for £50 would sell for £110 ISH at full price. This covers all the costs of retail inc rent, rates, taxes, staff costs etc.
In the case of footy kit I would imagine more profits are made both by Umbro and the Clubs but the biggest winners are the players and their wages.

Really wish we had gone back to Adidas

The Umbro kits looks decent especially the away shirt but the material is just so cheap for £55

Re: Profit margin on kits?
It's nowhere near what you think. They are amazingly expensive for the Club to buy from Umbro. They make the real money.

I doubt that the profit on a year's kit sales even covers 2 weeks of the player's salary bill.

As much as that?

Re: Profit margin on kits?
Tops I reckon $10, although fabric is prob quite expensive in the grand scheme of things.
Ours is manufactured in Bangladesh so is made in the cheapest place that is ethically possible.

Add duty and freight it probably lands at £8.50 and sells for £50?? That’s approx 80% margin.

worse thing is they make people buy them

Re: Profit margin on kits?
it was reported a couple of years back that they cost under a fiver to make, so yes they are massively ripping off fans and no doubt the sweat shop workers who make them
